With what are we building ourselves? And with what certainty?
Mounir Fatmi stumbles over time, over the question of the past and of course over that of the subsequent future. He stumbles as if he was loaded of memory. He authorizes himself that of the "tiny lives", buried, as dissolved by superimposed flows of news that covers and confines them to oblivion ; or, conversely, he calls the history, the one that politely dismisses collective memories, because they are as numerous as there are groups, and each have their own length.
"If time is the measure of what is happening, what's going on? What passes the history on? In the era of the post-"historical", isn't she only a vacuity: postcolonial, postmodern, Poststructuralism, neohistoricism, Multiversity, constructivism and deconstructionnism, blackness, ethnicity, diaspora, cultural studies, textualism, theorism, cultures war, gender, race recognition. All these forms of knowledges are thoughts of the fragment. What remains of the totality, of the universalism? Otherwise, the memory of its erasing."
