Summary :
What is a travel narrative? An attempt to reconstruct what was perceived, seen and heard ? Can one keep a diary of video souvenirs ? Here, GUITON's work is based on quotations : raw quotations of (significant) moments, selected from a mass of video rushes brought back from Chile and Buenos Aires, and textual quotations from Henri MICHAUX's writings. Two modes of writing which question one another : one of them disrupts the other. Reading time and thinking time provide a radical denial of the obvious linear development of viewing time. The "Here is what I saw and heard over there" is worked on, pierced and taken out of its context by the "ever present" nature of the poet's writing.
