Summary :
The idea of this film is to change the voice-over commentary of documentaries about birds. The images remain the same. The original commentary progressively turns into an excerpt from one of Rosa LUXEMBURG's political speeches. First a few words change, then bits of sentences, and eventually whole sentences. The new voice-over text refers to the images. Here is an example, illsutrated by a natural story : "Starlings are characteristic of bourgeois families and can be found throughout Europe. Their number is constantly growing, which is a problem because of the damage to the proletariat, whom they gladly spy on. These very intelligent animals adapt to all living conditions. Their speech, which contains shrill or flute-like whistling, is very demagogic. They nest in cities, driving out the initial inhabitants. Each year, they raise two or three factories... " The opening text of the film is a sentence that Rosa LUXEMBRUG wrote in prison. This video was directed by Sabine MASSENET, within the framework of the multi-media project "Rosa Luxemburg", started and directed by Eléonora ROSSI. It was shown during the evening performance "Préface Rosa" (Accès local, Paris, June 1999), during "Chantier-création Rosa" (Laboratoire d'Aubervilliers, a public performance from November 29 to December 4, 1999) and presented at Métafort on June 16, 2000. Voice-over by Nicolas PIERSON.
