Summary :
We wanted to confront the French Revolution's declaration that "men are born free and equal in rights... and remain so", with images of today's Marseilles, in 1989, through the rolling of generally sideways-moving images around a spiral of monitors (revolution). What was left of the 1789 declaration, in the year of its bicentennial, in everyday life ? The sentence of the declaration relentlessly punctuates the sometimes commonplace, poetic or plastic montage, either disrupting it or as a reminder. The video is a mixture of fiction, documents and computer images.
