“At the end of my internship, I made a short film that was a kind of family portrait of the research department where I’d worked; it enabled me to settle the score with the formidable father figure Pierre Schaeffer had been for me.” (Robert Cahen).
Hired as a composer and head of the experimental video laboratory at the Service de la Recherche, Robert Cahen pursued his research (using 16 mm), addressing most notably phenomena of receptive modes. He filmed video interviews, composed for television and participated in concerts until the dissolution of the French ORTF in 1974.
