Production : FISHER Mark, MIKE AND MARK Productions, SMITH Michael
Genre : Video art
Keyword : America, Fiction, Humour, Performance, Television
Summary :
In this first episode of the unfortunate adventures of Mike, his alter ego, Smith introduces his anti-hero of the stiff upper lip in one of those typical days where the story is saturated with references to the television junk culture of the Fifties, Sixties and Seventies. Mike the innocent organises a party to which no one comes (he realizes he has forgotten to send the invitations out...), he is seen calmly going about his usual preparations to the rhythm of the music of television films and children's songs. In a surrealistic ode to the banality of the pop culture, Mike dances to a classic piece of disco (Boogie Oogie Oogie).
