Summary :
Born in captivity, the polar bear Calista was shot for wanting to regain her freedom. She brings a criminal case on behalf of the voiceless (animal, human, plant, animate, inanimate). Almost three hundred years old, the Cedar of Lebanon in the Jardin des Plantes in Paris will preside over the case. Throughout this historic trial, non-violent actions of civil disobedience follow one another. <br /><br />The Trial is a tribute to the imaginative forces of law by Mireille Delmas-Marty (prominent researcher and jurist).
