Maeva Aubert was born November 26, 1970 in Paris.
She lives and works in Marseille as a freelance programmer in parallel with her business videographer. After studying art history and aesthetics at the Sorbonne, she worked in the Department of Experimental Film and film artists at the Centre Pompidou. From 1997 to 2000 she lived in New York where she is being implemented at Brooklyn College and the Film Video Arts (FVA). She leads a parallel job as a researcher and archivist for the Guggenheim Museum and Anthology Film Archives, film archive dedicated to avant-garde cinema and founded by filmmaker Jonas Mekas in 1970. In 1999 she founded The French Short Film Festival in New York, also presented at the Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles. Loisada, Avenue C, his first documentary created a community garden on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, has been shown at festivals and art centers in France and abroad (including Hors Pistes festival in 2006, Gallery National Jeu de Paume in 2005, Paris, Nuit Blanche, 2005 in Rome). More recently, China 66, both film and video installation in three screens has been the object of acquisition by the FRAC Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur in 2008 and an exhibition in Hong Kong in 2009.
