Summary :
Choreographer Jean-Claude Ramseyer imagined the other side of Manet’s Balcon: two elegant ladies who hate each other, some circus people on parade, boredom roaming about the smart houses of the bourgeois Parisian neighborhoods, a Sunday languor. The painting, a snapshot of bourgeois life as well as a motionless trip through this epoch, seems indeed to detain an enigma that the film prolongs, without resolving it.
