Summary :
"The history of the Massey (their saga, as they say) belongs to everyone. As a filmmaker, I took it and turned it into a film which I insist no longer belongs to me" (Marcel HANOUN). The Massey-Ferguson firm was established in the industrial district of Marquette-Lez-Lille (North of France) in the twenties. Its industrial purpose was to manufacture tractors and combine harvesters. In 1983, the factory closed down permanently. The most important metallurgical industry in the urban area of Lille was disappearing. Ten years later, the structures of workers' organization still survive : the union, which over the years has become a retired workers' union, the health insurance society, the festival of Saint Eloi and the publishing of the workers' monthly news bulletin "L'Unitaire". The production of this film is part of the global work of the association TEC/CRIAC on the culture and memory of labour, and more particularly, of the « Massey Saga » project.
