Summary :
TOTEMPOL includes analogical sequences from the Vancouver episode of CIRCUMNAVIGATION and digital sequences created with the software Life Forms. This fiction is first based on the hybridism produced by that otherness, and in redundance, on the dualism that appears as a permanent feature of Native American thinking, especially in British Columbia. That dualism has its source in an opening to the other which was clearly expressed in their first contacts with white men. The possibility of shooting city scenes with real dancers and animating virtual dancers in an imaginary scenography brings a relation of movement from one realm of writing to another into the film.
