Summary :
Since a long time, I wanted to fix on a support the aggregation process by which light prints the film layer by layer, sculpting in time the images of our emotions. The Hervé Robillard system seemed interesting to me. Its technique consists of, first, freeze entire or cut up fruits and vegetables. Then, one has to put this fossilized matrix in a warmer environment and observe the slightest reactions of the substances in the light, until the last stage.Time does and undoes image...I found myself an observer of gestures which are necessarily the offshoots of Hervé’s work. The passing of time can be seen at various stages and on various layers. There is the ice melting down, the surface being whipped up, Hervé's body moving while working and whose movements create for me constituents and framings. I examine this fragmental ballet flattered by the sun and look for the surface on which will catch my eyes.From the thickness of the Ice block, each and every matter possibilities are emerging. The whole work of Hervé that I know is made of beautiful black and white printings. He blurs both colour and depth to deepen the black. As for me, I play with colours and over and under exposition, images rhythm and stopping up in order to go until the border of visible, not to fix Hervé’s ephemeral intuitions, but to approach the process of their apparition in emotion.
