Summary :
Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, two republics of Central Asia, were successively colonies of the Czar's empire and states of the USSR. Those two exterior powers and ideologies have brutally imposed their model on the population. How can we, through improvisation, capture fragments of time, places and words, and represent everyday life, in spite of the ecological, economical and political disaster.
In order to recover one of the foundations of the documentary, which is the coincidence of shooting and creation, we have decided to edit the film mostly in-camera. We want to be in the present, and therefore try to concentrate the building process of the film into the shooting as much as we can.The decisions about the structure of a sequence and the duration of a shot, which traditionally belong to the edting, shift here toward the shooting.
