Summary :
A Brazilian film director who has been living in Paris for about ten years decides to investigate her Jewish and Hungarian origins by following, in the reverse order, the steps taken by her grandparents in 1937 and which had led them from Budapest to Rio. In addition to her grandmother's account, she searches the Brazilian and Hungarian archives, digging up treasures, and interviews her family in Rio and in Budapest. She wants to take Hungarian nationality, the one that her grandparents lost. This administrative request, this political and historical quest, induces her to raise essential questions about borders, cultural identity and multiplicity.
