Summary :
What does The Louvre look like when the public isn’t there ? This is the starting point of the 35mm movie of Nicolas Philibert, who immersed himself during eight months in the wings of the greatest museum in the world. The multitude of professions : from the one who put new canvas to the paintings to the marble worker, from the curator to the supervisor, who hurry up after the business hours, fascinated the director : “I have filmed the people of the Louvre as one would film a ballet”… Without any solemnity nor didactic intention, but with an amused and friendly eye, the movie let us discover a “city in the city”.
