Summary :
ALL IS WELL ON THE BORDER (Al-Sharit Bikhayr) examines issues of representation as they become relevant in studying the image of the Shrit (the occupied zone in South-Lebanon.) Three staged interviews whith Lebanese prisoners in Israel illustrate aspects of life under occupation.Their stories reflect the difficulty of communicating such an experience without constructing myths of the oppressor and the victim, the hero and the traitor… The distance between the Shrit and the rest of the country where thousands of displaced families live, becomes the focus of ALL IS WELL ON THE BORDER, which aims to illustrate the difficulties of representing areas of conflict. The interview as a narrative form is explored as a tribute to Godard's HERE AND ELSEWHERE, which examines images of the Palestinian/Israeli conflict in South Lebanon in the early seventies.
