Summary :
"La mémoire n’est pas un jeu d’enfant" is a research documentary, which, between France, Tunisia and Algeria, and through the singular destiny of a woman, Narriman, tries to think about how we are crossed by history in the places where we grow. while being a thought about the relationship between subjective memory, territory, and the consciousness of the adult.

Narriman. From Verdun to Tunis, and Aures Mountains.

Modeled by both French and Algerian culture, Narriman is really the daughter of her father, independent of the first hour, moderate militant at the PGAR (Provisional Government of the Algerian Republic)
.
The founding moment of Narriman's relationship with her childhood landscape occurs in December 1957, when her family moves from Verdun in Tunis. After the gray landscape filled with white crosses of her infancy, Narriman discovers with amazement the seascapes of North Africa and especially Mégrine-Côteaux, in the suburbs of Tunis
.
But Narriman's landscape is deeply worked by the anxiety she feels coming up around her. This worry culminates at the age of ten, when comes the Independence of Algeria and when her father decides to return with his family in the village of the Aures he is from. For Narriman, the experience of a devastated Algeria and the discovery of her father's native country put a definitive end to her little girl's carefreeness, while they found the very relationship she will maintain later with her identity. It is in Gosbat, poor village in the Aures massif, face to the misery and the desolation in which her family lives, consequences of the war of independence, that Narriman loses the innocence of childhood while she awakes to the consciousness of history.
