Summary :
A movie to listen, punctuated by a few Light burlesque minutes, those of the Palais des Nations in Geneva where was defined what a refugee is. In this film where speech is dissociated from the image, three stories are greeted by the black screen which is a large part of the film. This could then be the story of a missing image, that of the immigration services that can not be seen so easily, or that of a film image that no longer knows which belief to convey and that questions this with Maurice Godelier: how our beliefs and ways of thinking construct themselves?
The director Clio Simon questions not the media myth of the migration crisis, but the raw and invisible reality of the crisis of the reception of French institutions. This film has a considerable sound dimension with the help of the composer Javier Elipe Gimeno. The two artists met during their respective studies at Le Fresnoy and the Ircam and have already directed together "Diable écoute".
The stories in this film were written from interviews and sociological surveys carried out with people who have worked, or are still working, in the immigration services (Prefectures, OFPRA, CNDA).
